We aren’t born with good manners, so how are we supposed to learn them? Social skills need to be cultivated at a young age and reinforced throughout young adulthood. That’s not easy for parents to do when there’s school, homework and extracurricular activities (and of course social media!). At the end of the day, who has the energy to turn the dinner table into a classroom? That’s where Courteous & Cool training comes in!
Respecting and valuing others is a key factor in growing up to be a confident and poised adult. Old world manners are no longer required today, but the basic principals of etiquette still hold strong and true. Good table manners, pleasant conversation skills and making a positive impression never go out of style. Good manners make life more pleasant for everyone, so why not give your child the social tools they will use every day for the rest of their lives. Our classes are geared to improve their attitude and self-confidence- and they have fun doing it!
Classes
CONFIDENCE IS COOL (Ages 7-12)
This 3 day workshop is a great way to give your children the skills they need to succeed in the world today! Through interactive games and role-playing, kids learn amongst their peers the importance of good behavior, confident body language, proper handshake, and much more. The class concludes with an in-class “dinner party” where their dining skills are put to the test. (meal included on day 3)
ENROLLMENT FEE: $350 for 3 classes/6 Hours of instruction; Each class 2 hours
DINING 101 — (Ages 7-12)
This one of a kind workshop offers boys and girls an opportunity to learn about proper social skills in any dining situation. During this class they will learn the importance of proper dining, dinner conversation and other simple courtesies that will help them become more confident at any table. In addition, the kids will be instructed on how to place their own orders and will be guided on proper setting and use of their utensils.
ENROLLMENT FEE: $200 for 2 hour class (meal is included)
PROUD 2 BE POLITE — (Ages 4-7)
It’s never too young to start to instill good manners. This one of a kind workshop offers boys and girls an opportunity to learn the social skills that will help them become confident and self-assured young adults. During this lesson, they will learn the importance of handshakes, introductions, making eye contact and other simple courtesies that go along with making friends. This event also includes a light lunch, where they will put their table manners into motion. Kids will have fun while playing games that will reinforce their manners at home.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S — Girls & Boys (Ages 7-11)
This workshop focuses on girls and their friendship issues. It’s very important to have good friends and to be one too. But what do you do when a friendship hurts? In this workshop, your kids will get advice for solving friendship problems. Every kid has what it takes to be a great friend and to choose friends who are right for them. True friendships are a two-way street.

BACK TO SCHOOL SKILLS WORKSHOP — Girls & Boys Ages 7-12
Get your kids ready for the new school year with this Back to School skills prep class that will teach them how start the new year off right. They will learn how to make a good first impression with their new teachers, how to stay organized, secrets to being a good student, tips on how to make new friends, lunchtime protocol and good sportsmanship all year around.
ENROLLMENT FEE: $200 for 2 hour class (Refreshments served)
POLISHED AND POISED – (Ages 11-15)
In today’s society, grace and poise are two things that young ladies are quickly losing. As they grow up in a world centered around Facebook and text messaging, they are quickly losing the ability to enjoy a poised conversation, carry themselves in an attractive way, and be attentive to the needs and interests of those around them. This workshop provides the advice today’s young ladies need to grow into polished and poised young adults.
ENROLLMENT FEE: $250 for 2 1/2 hour workshop (lunch included)
INTERVIEW PREP COURSE
Ideal for private school or college interviews or your first job.
Whether you are interviewing for a private school, college or your first job, or joining a sorority at a college, knowing how to present yourself is key. 85% of why a person gets a job and gets ahead is related to social skills. Before you are admitted into a school or hired anywhere, you’ll have to ace the interviewing process. This training program is designed to give you the skills and the tools to make you stand out above the rest.
PRIVATE SESSION: 1 student $200/ Per hour
TEEN SCENE (Ages 13 & up)
During this workshop, teens learn essential life skills needed to succeed in school, college and throughout their careers. Many people believe that these skills are what is missing in our schools today. During the workshop, students will participate in interactive, engaging lessons and activities, including making a good first impression, how to look confident, how to have a conversation without words such as “um, like and you know,” showing appreciation, mobile device dos and don’ts, dining skills and more.
ENROLLMENT FEE: $250/per student 2 1/2 hours (meal included)
PRIVATE LESSON: 1 student $350/ 2 Hour (meal included) Program can be customized to fit your needs.
PRINCESS MANNERS TEA PARTY (Ages 4-8)
What young lady wouldn’t like to learn what it takes to be a royal. Every young lady needs to learn the basics associated with having proper manners in the world and what better way to learn than with a tea party? Tea is a social beverage and, as any social situation, it calls for manners. In fact, the ceremonies of teatime can raise our manners to the pinnacle of refinement. Its charm lies in the little niceties that are associated with the eating and the drinking of the tea service as well as the socializing and conversation. Each girl will take home a tea cup to remember the occassion.
ENROLLMENT FEE: 2 Hours-$200 (Tea party refreshments included)
BROWNIES & GIRL SCOUT MEETINGS
Want a fun way to earn a manners badge? These 1 hour workshops are designed to teach the basics of good social skills through interactive games and role-playing. Choose what you would like your girl scout troop to learn from one of our popular topics offered such as: Meet & Greet Essentials, Dining skills, Putting your best foot forward, Friendship issues and more.

This 2-day summer workshop is a great way to give your children the skills and build confidence they need to succeed in the world today! Through interactive games and role-playing, kids learn amongst their peers the importance of good behavior, confident body language, proper handshakes, conversation skills, making & keeping friends, phone etiquette, and restaurant & dining skills. The class concludes with an in-class “dinner party” where their dining skills are put to the test.
